In the water treatmenthydrogen peroxide is used to oxidation of organic and inorganic contaminants, elimination of odours and reduction of certain pollutants. It is also used in certain advanced oxidation processes to improve the quality of water and industrial effluents.

In the mining industryH₂O₂ is used in several processes, in particular for oxidation of certain chemical compounds, ore processing and improving the efficiency of certain chemical reactions in processing circuits.
